PEDIATRIC PODIATRY
Children of any age, whether infants, toddlers, children, tweens, teens, or young adults, who are showing signs of pain or complaining of pain in the foot, ankle, or lower body, need professional attention.
These issues, injuries, and conditions need to be corrected and treated early on, to prevent further damage, worsening conditions, and the possibility of life-long pain.
SPORTS MEDICINE PODIATRY IS OUR SPECIALTY. PERFORMANCE IS THE NAME OF THE GAME.
What we do.
We treat painful conditions of the lower extremities caused by injury, heredity, or overuse. The most common conditions include heel pain, foot arch pain, ankle pain, knee pain, leg pain, hip pain, and back pain caused by poor body mechanics.
What we really like to do.
We really like to prevent pain before it happens. We do this by performing a full body, biomechanical examination, and functional movement screening, which includes a gait analysis (walking and running) that we do for all of our patients both young and old. If abnormalities are caught early (the younger the better), it is easy to fix and realign body posture. Misalignment causes strain. Strain causes pain. And it all begins with the feet.
How do we relieve pain?
The simplest, most effective way to correct these painful conditions is with a custom orthotic. Custom orthotics (or as we call them ) our “Secret Weapons”, are inserts that fit into your shoes that we make from custom molded or custom 3-D scans of your feet. They fit comfortably into your shoes because they are customized to fit your foot, which then allows the inserts to correct your faulty mechanics, thus reducing abnormal motion while you walk, run, or are simply just standing. These custom orthotics can not only help your athletic performance, but they can also help you bounce back from an injury much more quickly.
All of our patient care is handled conservatively. However, we will perform surgery in an emergency or if the patient has daily pain in an area, but only as a last resort.
